Contemporary landscape and art quilter Amy Dionne has been sewing and quilting most of her life. She grew up surrounded by women who crocheted, embroidered, knit, and quilt. Northern Maine has cold, harsh winters and crafting projects with family provided warmth. Amy started sewing stuffed animals and making clothing in Home Economics class in high school. She made her first quilt as a senior. In college, she became a seamstress and costumer. She continued a costumer for various community theaters in southern Maine. She worked for a wedding boutique altering dresses.

Amy’s current passion is quilting. From the traditional log cabin quilts to landscape collage, art quilted wall hangings and full size bed quilts, purses and lots of tote bags. If it’s quilted, she’ll try making it. Currently the focus is branching to art quilts and modern quilting and expanding her repertoire of techniques. Amy primarily machine pieces and quilts on her domestic machine, often adding embroidery, fiber, and beading embellishments. Have a question about the process or any of her quilts? Use the contact form below or contact Amy on social media.
